Tata Group chairman Natarajan Chandrasekaran on Thursday said the group's recently launched super app Neu is on an open architecture and it will host non-group brands as well. The Tatas finally launched its super app Tata Neu on April 7, after piloting it for months, but the group chairman claimed there was no delay in the commercial launch. Stating that the app has received an overwhelming response in the past seven days of going live, Chandrasekaran said the app is on an open architecture and will host products and services from non-Tata group companies.
The statement comes in the wake of reports that warned of power crisis looming large due to the coal shortage in the country.

Reliance Energy Ltd said on Friday the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity has quashed an order of Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission that restricted the company from offering rebates to its retail consumers in the city.
The move will help the utility to charge more from its 2.6 million users in Mumbai. Reliance Infrastructure (Rel Infra) had asked asked the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission for a 4.19 per cent rise in its annual revenue requirement. It was instead granted an increase of 10 per cent. Mumbai and its suburbs are serviced by Tata Power, Brihanmumbai Electricity & Suburban Transport and Reliance Energy.
